Easy Air Fryer Chicken Breasts

Please Share :)

Air frying is one of the best ways to prepare juicy chicken breasts with minimal effort. This quick and easy recipe uses simple seasonings while keeping the chicken tender inside and slightly crispy on the outside. It’s my go-to recipe for a busy weeknight meal and is perfect for meal prepping for the week.

Why Use an Air Fryer for Chicken?

Healthier Option: Uses less oil compared to traditional frying.

Quick Cooking: Cooks more quickly compared to baking.

Juicy and Tender: Retains moisture while getting a lightly crisp exterior.

Less Mess: No splattering oil or excessive cleanup is required.

Even Cooking: The circulating air ensures the chicken cooks evenly on all sides.

Ingredients:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

½ teaspoon salt

⅛ teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions:

In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder together until well combined. Set aside.

Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick better and ensures a better texture.  If your chicken breasts are thick, consider pounding them to an even thickness to ensure even cooking or slice them horizontally to make them thinner.

Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken breasts, coating all sides with your hands. Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly on both sides and rub the seasoning in to coat the chicken well.

Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for about 3 minutes. Preheating helps the chicken cook more evenly and achieve a better texture.

Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 8-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Use a meat thermometer to check doneness to avoid overcooking.

Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This will help it retain its juices and keep it moist.
